Nymphe project - 2023 Year Review

Updated: Feb 1, 2024

Reflecting on 2023: A Year of Growth and Progress of Project Nymphe! 🌱

As we bid farewell to an eventful year, we want to showcase Nymphe's incredible journey in bioremediation throughout 2023. The project is flourishing, and we want to share our activities and achievements with you. Our mission is clear: to make our world cleaner and more friendly for every single life form. Together, let's make a positive impact on our planet.

Thank you for 2023 and stay tuned for more updates, collaborations, and exciting discoveries!

2023 Year Review:

BioRemid 2023

3rd International Meeting on New Strategies in Bioremediation / Restoration Processes. The event took place on the 29th and 30th of June 2023 at FHNW Campus Muttenz, Switzerland.

BioRemid 2023 was four intensive days full of discussions and lectures on

bioremediation and zero pollution. The objective of this meeting was clear - to bring

together scientists and industry professionals to share the latest developments and

innovations to face environmental problems and challenges.

Projects workshop

The workshop was concentrated on concise presentations by the project

coordinators, emphasizing the key aspects of each project. Following that, the

recently launched Horizon Europe projects outlined their planned bioremediation

innovations, while the Horizon 2020 projects shared the significant outcomes

achieved through their respective initiatives.

Following all the presentations, discussions among experts ensued regarding the

crucial role of bioremediation in creating healthier soils, cleaning up groundwater,

and improving air quality. They also shared their knowledge and experiences in the

direction of achieving zero-pollution.

The workshop was attended by members of the Bioremediation Cluster consisting of

ELECTRA, EiCLaR, BIOSYSMO, SYMBIOREM, GREENER, and MIBIREM projects.

Circular Talks

Topic: "Bioremediation as an effective tool for a clean environment".

On September 12th, the ECESP Leadership Group on Bioeconomy brought together

an expert panel to discuss ways to clean up the environment using this nature-based

solution and achieve zero-pollution. Participants learned how to reduce microplastics

and pharmaceutical contamination in the soils and water. The experts presented

innovative bioremediation solutions and how to implement them sustainably.

The webinar was organized by: European Circular Economy Stakeholder

Platform, INNOWO, Biosysmo, Symbiorem, EiCLAR, Electra, Mibirem, Nymphe,Gre

ener.

Circular Week 2023

Circular Week is an international series of events and initiatives dedicated to the circular economy, taking place across Europe. The aim of Circular Week is to promote the concept of a closed-loop economy, support sustainable business models, and foster collaboration among stakeholders.

On behalf of Nymphe project, a presentation was given by Prof. Philippe Corvini from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland on the topic "Bioremediation for Water Protection."

ECOMONDO 2023 fair

The annual trade fair for the green and circular economy brought together all sectors of the circular economy, from material and energy recovery to sustainable development. The expo took place in Rimini, Italy from 7 to 10 November 2023.

NYMPHE was present  (with its coordinator Prof. Giulio Zanaroli) at the European Commission stand (EU stand, Hall South, November 9th) entitled: “Funding Circular Economy Innovation in Europe”.
